Aurora "Dora" Luna was born in Austin, Texas on November 20, 1932. She passed away at home with her family by her side on November 6, 2003, after a long battle with Alzheimers. She was preceded in death by her parents, Julia Moreno Pineda and Manuel Pineda Jr.; and brother, Manuel Pineda III. Dora is survived by her husband of 52 years, Valentino Luna Sr.; four children, Sylvia Van Vlerah and husband Jim, Valentino Luna Jr. and wife Elvia, Michael Luna, and Mario Luna; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Ann Perez and husband Jose, Mary Castillo, and Delores Aleman; and brother, Jimmy Pineda and wife Socorro. The family thanks South Austin Hospital 2nd floor, Hospice Austin, and family, for the care given to Dora. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 6:00 p.m., Sunday, at Wilke-Clay-Fish Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Monday, November 10, 2003, at San Jose Catholic Church, Father Kevin Rai as celebrant. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Eric Luna, Derek Luna, Michael Bret Luna, Christopher Luna, Bryan Van Vlerah and Veronica Luna.
