Arthur B. Hill peacefully passed away on Saturday, October 29th, 2011, after a battle with cancer. He was born in Teaneck, New Jersey on March 12, 1933, the 7th of 10 children. In his early teens his family moved to Dallas, Texas. Following high school he enlisted in the Air Force in 1953 and served in Okinawa. After an honorable discharge, he attended Loyola University in New Orleans and earned his business degree. His first job with GE took him and his family to many cities. Art lived in Oklahoma City from 1970 to 1990 where he was an active member of St. Charles Catholic Church. In the mid 80s, he moved to Houston to be closer to his children. Art became an active member of St. Raphael Catholic Church where he loved to lead hymns and give readings. Art was also involved in Catholic education at the church. For work, he excelled in inside sales at SpectraCell Laboratories. Art was named Sales Person of the Year in 2005 and was regularly recognized for his contributions. He later moved to Austin and lived in the French Quarter apartments, where he felt right at home living amongst Longhorn fans. Art joined St. Louis Catholic Church. He later moved to Parsons House retirement community where he made many special friends and lived out his final days. Art was kind, loving, funny and an inspiration to many around him. He had a disarming personality and unique sense of humor that drew people to him. Art's major passions in life included music, sports, his faith and his family. He was gifted with an exceptional voice. He was a true fan of the Longhorns, Cowboys, Dodgers and Celtics, as well as an avid tennis player. Granddad was very proud of his seven grandchildren spread around the globe.
Art is survived by his son Arthur, his wife Dominique and their children, Alexander and Anais; his daughter Colleen Hill-Bataille, her husband Clement and their children, Antonin and Sienna; his son Patrick, his wife Celeste and their children, Harper and Trey; his daughter Brenda Tully, her husband Jeff and child, Wrigley; his sisters Colleen Carmichael, Jean Marie Minnick, Mary Pat Liggio and Peggy Hill ; and his brother Bill Hill.
Art is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Hill Sr and Irene Hill; and his brothers Dick Hill, Jerry Hill, Paul Hill and Jimmy Hill.
Services will be held at St Louis King of France Catholic Church at 10:30 AM on Monday, November 7th, 2011.
