Earthbound ~ Heavenbound
God spoke and earth responded so that Annie Alexander was born February 9, 1919 in Cedar Creek, Texas to Julia and Joe Alexander. There were eight children resulting from this union of which Annie was the third girl. A total of (21) twenty-one siblings made up this family because of her father's previous marriage.
Cedar Creek was where she had her upbringing and attended school there. Graduating was not in the picture for her. She only completed the eighth grade.
Annie professed a belief in Christ at a early age and it grew as she grew. In 1936 she moved to Austin, Texas and immediately joined Metropolitan A.M.E. Church. She was an active Christian and became a part of these organizations, Stewardess Board, Missionary Society, Choir, Class Leader, Trustee Board, and the Lay Organization. She was proud that she became an ordained Deaconess of the A.M.E. Church. God was her first love and cooking was her second passion. She was a professional cook for many years. She cooked for some of the most important people in Austin. She used her culinary expertise for God also. She became decline. She became the resident cook for Metropolitan for years until her health began to decline. Her participation on all levels had to stop.
She married Sammy Watrous in 1942. They have one adopted son, Roscoe Daniel. Sammy preceded her in death in 1983.
Over 93 years of age, she is preceded in eternal life by her mother; father; all her sisters; and all her brothers. What a joyous reunion they are having in Glory!
Annie is survived by one son, Roscoe Daniel and wife Sandra Daniel; grandchildren, Vietta Plummer, Crystal Hutchinson, Jasmine Daniel, and Brichelle Daniel; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
