Anna Marie Jackson Spears, dearly loved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, died on the 26th of February 2012. Anna was born on the 20th of November 1922 in Hillsdale, New Jersey to Allan Jackson and Anna Caspeele Jackson. She married her childhood friend and sweetheart, Edgar John Spears in Westwood, New Jersey on the 19th of July 1947. They were married for forty-two years and raised three children in Westwood.
Anna served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a postal worker. After her honorable discharge, she worked for the U.S. Postal Service for thirty years in New Jersey. She continued to work in clerical and secretarial positions for various public and private organizations until her retirement in 1988.
In 1979, Anna and Edgar moved to and made Round Rock, Texas their last home. They enjoyed watching their grandchildren grow and were their greatest supporters in all the activities in which they were involved. She enjoyed traveling, playing games, spending time with family and going to Round Rock Express ballgames.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother, Charles Jackson, and her sister, Natalie Leonesio. She leaves behind her children: Joanne Long and her husband, Kenneth of Chimney Rock, Colorado; John Spears and his wife, Barbara of Millsboro, Delaware; and Jeanne Toewe and her husband, C. Fred; nine grandchildren John Long (Jeana), Jeanette Long, James Long, Sean Spears (Lynne), Brandon Spears (Meredith), Ryan Spears, Jeffrey Lyon (Jane), John Lyon (Tiffany), Julie Petrich (Paul); sixteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by her sister, Regina Ford of Newark Valley, New Jersey.
