Jennifer Murphy, four great nieces, and a great nephew in the Hotchkiss and Murphy family
lineages. Her constant companions over many years were her beloved Cairn and West Highland Terriers.
Ann was predeceased by her parents, Josephine and Victor Weber, in Austin after years of the
sisters’ loving care. The Weber family formed in the 1930s in Harlingen, Texas, and later moved
by Victor’s career at Sears-Roebuck through various Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas towns before settling in Austin during the 1950s. Josephine taught at Austin High School, and Ann and Mary attended
McCallum High School and the University of Texas, with Ann earning a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design
in 1959.
Ann then served as Assistant Designer at Amy Stark Interiors in Austin before forming and
operating her own business as Ann Weber Interiors. During decades of design, Ann served
from 1985-1988 as secretary and president of the American Society of Interior Designers as a certified
designer and was a Registered Interior Designer with the State of Texas. In 1986, House Beautiful
Magazine recognized Ann LaNell Weber with a showcase of 10 Best room designs. Ann was a
member of the Travis County Historical Commission, and an avid reader and movie fan.
