Ann Marie Blackmore-Simmons-Hill of Lakeway, TX born 1945 in Cambridge, MA, the first of eight children born to Arthur and Mary Blackmore of Pomfret, CT. She is the wife of radio and TV broadcaster Brian Hill formerly of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Virginia Beach, VA and now Lakeway, TX. She is the loving mother of Michael Simmons of Denver, CO and Jason Simmons of Austin, TX. Ann is survived by her father and her seven siblings: Dan Blackmore, Mary Ragno, Marguerite Rose, John Blackmore, Judie Blackmore, Kate McGivern and David Blackmore (aka No. 8). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and their children.
Ann was administrator of the emergency department at Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters in Norfolk, VA. She went on to become a practice management specialist for doctors in Sentara hospitals. Eventually her career placed her with Cerner Corporation where she led multiple projects coast-to-coast in the U.S. helping develop virtual teaching for her company’s end-to-end medicate software solution. While at Cerner, she worked virtually, as well as in person, on projects in many countries including Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi, Kuala Lumpur, London, England, and Toronto, Ontario in Canada and across the U.S.
While battling ovarian cancer for 7 years, in retirement, Ann enjoyed watching her three granddaughters play soccer and play piano in Austin, TX and keeping in touch with a fourth granddaughter in Denver, Co. She followed with interest the careers of her son Michael who works for Ikea and Jason who works for Dun & Bradstreet.
Ann is also survived by Edward Simmons former husband and Navy veteran. Throughout her life she continued to have many friends in the Navy community.

Inurnment will take place in Pomfret, CT at a later date.
