Ann Harris Cissel met Jesus and reunited with her angels, George, Bev, Ross, and Jake on October 6, 2022, just shy of her 88th birthday. Ann was born in Jackson, Tennessee on October 21, 1934. She attended W. B. Ray High School in Corpus Christi and graduated from her favorite institution, The University of Texas, with a Bachelor of Education in 1955. Ann was a proud member of the Chi Omega sorority. She married George Gilmour Cissel in 1957 and they made their home in Houston, Texas. No one loved Houston as much as Ann. Ann leaves behind three loving children, Georgeann Taylor, Harris Cissel, and Jena Ehlinger. She cherished her 8 grandchildren and told anyone who would listen all about them. Ann was a true steel magnolia and never met a stranger. She loved going to church, her longhorns, dancing, her chardonnay with ice, laughing, dogs, the Astros, and her many friends. The family would like to thank the amazing staff at Longleaf Assisted Living who helped to fill the last year of her life with love and laughter. In remembrance of her life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to the Texas Exes for the Jake Ehlinger Memorial Scholarship. Please note the scholarship name in your memo and address to: Texas Exes, P.O. Box 142309, Austin, Texas 78714. Or go to: https://giving.utexas.edu/jake-memorial/
