Anita Melendez

Anita Melendez, age 89, mother to Irma Cervantes, Graciela Melendez, Isidro Melendez Jr. and Petra Melendez, passed away on Saturday February 4, 2023 in Austin, Tx. She was born in Marfa, Tx on March 17, 1933 to Sebastian and Marciela Beseril.

Anita the most loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother is survived by daughters Irma, Teresa and Petra; son Isidro; granddaughters Yasmeen and Sarah; grandsons Prospero, Gus, Joshua and Joseph.

She graduated from Big Spring High School and started and raised her family in the small town of Big Spring, Tx. Anita worked in retail all her life until she retired. She enjoyed working with and helping people.

Music, dance and old westerns brought joy to her soul. She loved all types of genres. While cooking she would listen to music and dance. Her favorite Tv shows were Dancing with the Stars, So You Think You Can Dance, The Voice and everything John Wayne. Anita also loved being a grandmother and treasured all of her grandchildren. She was so proud of each and every one of them.
