Angela Ferrier Foster was born in Tyler, Texas on July 19, 1956 to Leiland and Joyce Ferrier. She passed away May 20, 2010. Angela grew up in Tyler, Texas and graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1974. She led an active life while growing up, participating in a number of drama productions, the high school drill team, and ballet. In 1974 she was inducted into the "National Thespians" and was also named runner-up in the "East Texas Junior Miss Pageant". After graduation she attended Texas Christian University where she graduated in 1978 with degrees in Theatre Arts and Business. After graduation she danced professionally for the Fort Worth Ballet Company. After that she was a flight attendant for a major airline and then entered the real estate business. In 1994 she met Grant Foster, the love her life, her "Chesty Man", and they were married on May 24, 1997. Benevolent hearts was a driving force in their 13 year marriage. Angela was known for her love, kindness, and compassion towards others. She was living testimony to "it's not what you have, but what you give away", as she voluntarily worked for over 8 years with "The Gathering", an outreach program for Alzheimer victims sponsored by the Westlake Presbyterian Church. Her passion and compassion for these victims and their families was personified by her enthusiasm, empathy, concern, and joy as she spent untold hours assisting them in a difficult time of their life. When Angela asked "How are you doing?", she sincerely wanted to know, and followed this up by being a terrific listener. Many of her friends have commented that when you were talking to her you felt like you were the only person in the room even though you might be among many. Angela was preceded in death by her parents, Leiland and Joyce Ferrier of Tyler, Texas. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband Grant Foster; sister Cherie Brown and husband Jim of Tyler, Texas; Kevin Ferrier and his wife Kaye of Tyler, Texas; nephew Scott Brown and his wife Laura and daughter Ashlyn of San Antonio, Texas; brother-in-law Gary Foster and wife Debra, children Courtney and Cooper of Cedar Park, Texas; sister-in-law Sharon Styron and husband Ron, children Brian and Jodi of Cocoa Beach, Florida; and a host of friends throughout the United States. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 3, 2010, 2:00 PM at the Smith Chapel at Riverbend Church. A reception will follow at Barton Creek Country Club. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to "The Gathering" at Westlake Presbyterian Church, 7127 Bee Cave Road, Austin, Texas 78746. Please wear pink in memory of our "Pinky".
