Amanda (Autumn) Nicholson, wife of Amy Holland, beloved daughter of Jeff Nicholson and Kathy Nicholson Fickes, and sister to Cassie Nicholson DeMora, passed away on December 11, 2023, in Austin, TX, at the age of 36.
Born on December 13, 1986, Autumn's passions were as diverse as the cosmos she found fascinating. She loved baseball, football, soccer, playing guitar, listening to music, exploring the wonders of theoretical physics, and losing herself in the mysteries of the stars. Autumn's curiosity knew no bounds.
On May 10, 2007, Autumn married the love of her life, Amy Holland, in Austin, Texas. They enjoyed 17 years together, and their strong partnership and love were a celebration of unwavering loyalty, fierce determination, and a testament to the resilience of love.
Autumn brought an infectious enthusiasm to her professional work, forming bonds with colleagues that transcended the ordinary. Her workplace wasn't just a place of employment; it was a community of friendship and support, something she treasured deeply.
She will be dearly missed by her wife Amy Holland and family, their fur babies Photobooth, Huxley, Tesla, and Newton, father Jeff Nicholson (Mary Louise Nicholson), mother Kathy Cox Nicholson Fickes (Gary Fickes), sister Cassie Nicholson DeMora (Steve DeMora), grandmother Virginia Cox, grandmother and grandfather Jeri Nicholson Moore and Caj Moore, grandfather John Nicholson (Lily Nicholson), aunts Jill Nicholson, Susie Cox Knofs Bonjonia, uncles Terry Cox, Ryan Nicholson (Molly Nicholson), cousins Jacob Cox, Brandy Knofs, Austin Knofs, Colton Knofs, Bentley Knofs, and countless friends.
She joins her grandfather Leroy Cox and fur babies Feynman, Abby, Shutterbug, Dave & Doris, and Roxy, as well as many childhood pets, among the stardust.
We invite you to join us in celebrating Autumn's life at Cook-Walden Funeral Home on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at 1 pm, located at 6100 N Lamar Blvd, Austin, TX 78752. Please wear your favorite band or sports gear. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to two organizations that Autumn strongly supported: Austin Humane Society or Out Youth.
