Allen D. Golden passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2016 after a long and courageous bout with Alzheimer's. He was born in Corsicana, Texas to Mace and Sarah Golden on November 8, 1925. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Ruth Miller.
Allen was a gregarious soul and he used his gift in business. His career included sales in retail, real estate and life insurance with New York Life. He was a member of Downtown Austin Rotary, Seton Main Auxiliary, Congregation Beth Israel and the Council on At Risk Youth. Allen was a World War II veteran, a graduate of the University of Texas, an avid golfer and fisherman, and a huge supporter of the Texas Longhorns. Allen believed that life was meant to be enjoyed and he made sure that he enjoyed every minute

He is survived by his widow, Martha Golden, three children, Elyse (Ken) Blair, Debbie (Jerry) Glazer, Bruce (Sharon) Golden and six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Also, he is survived by his brother, Ed (Dolly) Golden.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 1, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home located at 3125 North Lamar Blvd., with burial following at Austin Memorial Park Cemetery.
