
I am the daughter of J.R. and Louise Simons of Beaumont, TX.  I am so sorry to learn of the death of Mrs. Alice K. Walden and want you to know that your family will be in our thoughts and prayers.  Jerry, Pat and Justin Varley

I'm sorry to hear about your dear MOTHER. That is really a good picture of her. May GOD bless you in these sad times.You all are lucky to of had her for all of those years. I lost Momma in 78' and Daddy in 79'. May your memories help console you.



This is the hardest thing in my life i have ever had to deal with. Alice Walden was some one who knew no limits to her love.  She expressed that to those around her.  I have many memories of my grandmother.  Too manny to list and tell about.  I have had a realy hard time accepting that she has passed on.  I have how ever found a way to accept it.  The bond my sister and i had with our grandmother is a bond that can not be broken.  She taught me the meaning of family.  How to love unconditionaly.  Cause that is what she so often did with those around her.  I recal one day in general,  I was sick at my mothers and I was so cold.  She came to me and she helped in more ways than medication did .  The cold I felt was gone the minute she helt me in her arms.  So tight and ashuring that I was going to get better.  From that day on I felt that warmth every time she gave me a hug.  I have found the last three days I sit and I listen to the out side things that grandma always wanted us to listen to and understand and enjoy but as a child you never realy understood it.  The day she passed on I sat in the back yard at my fathers house as i often did as a child.  I closed my eyes and i listened to the birds,  took in the freash air she wanted while she was stuck inside, and felt the sun shine on my face.  I took it all in and I relized she is not gone she has not left us she is just mearly around us in every way possible .  I know I feel her and hear her in the day time but am also pertected by her at night.  The stars in the sky remind me of her stary eyes when she smiled so big.  Grandma was the the rock Linda and I often leaned on and some times depended on .  I belive when she walked into those gates she had tears.  Tears of joy for those she has missed for so long she was finaly with them again.  Yet tears of sadness for those she left behind.  I love you grandma and thank you for the lessons in life you have taught me . With all my heart i say rest grandma and we shall reunite when the time is right.. I have so many wonderful memories of my grandmother. She always knew how to make me smile. Her touch, smile and her caring ways kept me going when i had no one to turn to. My best memories are with my Grandmother during summers. We would get together and cook super together and me my sister Jeannie and her would carry it outside to the table and have our meal there, afterwards we would cut up a watermelon. Then we would run around the house barefooted in the cool carpet grass. I never seen my gradma angry.....she always had a warm smile. She was not only my grandmother, she was my mom and my best friend. My grandmother passed away on my 32nd birthday and it really hurt, but i believe it was a sign of her wanting my family being together to celebrate her peacefullness and my birthday. Then i realized shes in no pain shes happy up in heaven with my grandfather and uncles. I know each day when i wake up she will be looking down on me and watching what i do, she is still here with me, i just cant see her. I just close my eyes and there she is, smiling and telling me its all going to be ok.



We will miss you grandma. We love you with all our hearts and we take comfort in knowing you are at peace and living with the warth of god by your side.  Michael, Linda, Travis and David
