It is with profound sadness that we announce the untimely passing of Ali Arizona Betancourt, a remarkable young soul who touched the lives of all who knew her. She departed from our midst at the tender age of 16, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever be etched in our hearts. Ali fought a valiant battle against leukemia, displaying unwavering strength, resilience, and an indomitable spirit until the very end.
Born to loving parents Ruth Drackley and Adrian Betancourt, Ali brought immeasurable joy and laughter into their lives. From a young age, her passion for art manifested in the vivid strokes of her drawings, which served as windows into her vibrant imagination. She possessed a unique talent for capturing emotions and conveying them through her art.
Ali possessed a wicked sense of humor that was contagious. Her quick wit and clever remarks had a way of lightening even the heaviest of hearts. With her infectious laughter, she brightened the dullest of moments and turned gloom into rays of sunshine. Her ability to find humor in the face of adversity was truly remarkable and served as a source of inspiration for all who knew her.
Throughout her battle with leukemia, Ali displayed a resilience that left her doctors and caregivers in awe. Her determination to fight against all odds was truly awe-inspiring. She refused to let her illness define her, facing each day with unwavering strength and an unwavering belief in the power of hope.
In addition to her parents, Ali is survived by her siblings, David Rivera, Marie Resendez, Olivia Betancourt, Angelica Betancourt, Jacob, and Holden Rivera, Paige Drackley, Will Drackley, Tyler Drackley, and Keaton Drackley. Each of them held a special place in her heart, and the bond they shared will forever endure.
She also leaves behind her loving stepfather, Todd Drackley, and stepmother, Brittany Betancourt, who provided unwavering support and love throughout her journey. Ali cherished the moments they spent together, finding solace and comfort in their presence. Ali will be deeply missed by her maternal grandmother, Aurora Resendez, and paternal grandmother, Frances Vierkoetter.
In addition to her immediate family, Ali is survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, all of whom were touched by her warmth, kindness, and infectious spirit. Her presence in their lives brought joy and laughter, and her memory will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Ali may no longer be physically present, but her legacy will forever endure.
A rosary service for Ali will be held Sunday, June 11, 2023, from 6:00 PM to 6:30 PM at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar, Austin, TX 78752. A visitation will occur Sunday, June 11, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, 6100 North Lamar, Austin, TX 78752. A funeral mass will occur Monday, June 12, 2023, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at St Mary's Cathedral, 203 E 10th St, Austin, TX 78701.
