Alfred Hickman Casmon (Bull) Walker, Jr. was born on January 31, 1947 in Austin, Texas to his father, Alfred Casmon Walker, Sr., and his mother, Mary Louise Evans. Alfred passed on Good Friday, March 30, 2018 at Park Bend Rehab & Nursing Home peacefully. He served as a Junior Deacon at Mt Calvary M.B.C. under the pasturage of the late Reverend S.L. Davis. For his early education, Alfred attended Rosewood Elementary, Kealing Jr. High (now Kealing Middle School) and the original L.C. Anderson High School (Yellow Jackets). His college education took him to the University of Texas at Austin, where he majored in Fine Arts and Art Studio.Alfred had a passion for Kendo where he achieved the rank of 4th Dan. He was a senior instructor for many years at the University of Texas Association and also well known as Sensei Alfred Walker from Austin throughout the kendo dojos in New York, Los Angeles, and Japan. He was well respected and admired by the international Kendo community.Though Alfred was a very quiet and unassuming person who kept to himself most of the time, he traveled all across the United States of America and Japan due to his love of Kendo, good food, and good music.He was employed by Leutwylers Jewelers, where he became a member of the Gemological Institute of America. In this profession, he wore many hats such as AGS, Advance Gem Setting G/A, bench jeweler, retail sales, stone grading, jewelry design repair, diamond grading, and finishing stone setting.Other job opportunities Alfred had during his life was being a baker, prep line-cook, buffet/catering, delivery, managing a Big Daddy Pizza, and landing a great gig as kitchen manager at Austin's own legendary venue, Hole in the Wall.Alfred was preceded in death by both of his parents and three brothers; Gene Eddie, Caswell King (Bitter), and Walter Lee Walker who passed while an infant. He is survived by his sister, Mary B. Cooper; nephew, Bobby; niece, Arenda; two great nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.The memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 11am in the Mercer Memorial Chapel of Fuller-Sheffield Funeral Home, 2808 E MLK Jr Blvd, Austin, TX 78702.
