Albert Lee Harris, Jr, 85, of Mobile Alabama, passed away on June 26, 2020, in his home in Round Rock, Texas. Albert was born in Prichard, Alabama, to Albert Harris, Sr. and Mary Louise Mitchell Harris. He was a member of First Baptist Church, finished high school at Mobile County Training School and started college at Alabama State College Branch in Mobile, Alabama, when he was 15 years old. Albert joined the U.S. Navy at the age of 18 and is a veteran of the Korean Conflict. Albert served in the Navy from 1954-1958. On December 27,1959 he married Deloris Cox and continued his education at Alabama A&M University receiving his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics & Building Construction in May 1961. He was employed by Brown Engineering followed by International Business Machines (IBM) in 1966 as an industrial engineer in Huntsville, Alabama. He accepted a promotion and transferred to IBM in Owego, NY, then to Austin, TX, completing over 25 years at IBM.
Albert Harris was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather (G-Daddy).
He was an accomplished musician, jazz and blues enthusiast, and led the band, “Ace (Al) & The Quartet.” His music delighted many souls.
Carrying on his legacy of love is his beloved wife of 60 years, Deloris C. Harris; son, Andrew Leslie Harris; daughters: Adriane Lynnette Brown and Anita Lois Wilson; his sisters Carolyn Jones and Alice Onita East; grandchildren: Alexyander Lee Harris, Andrew Leslie-Joshua Harris, Anthony Langston-Jerimiah, Aaron Lancaster-James Harris, Jose Manuel Harris, Michael Alan Brown II , Alexandria Lillian Brown, Karlie Noel Wilson, Kyah Danielle Wilson, Joseph Adonai Wilson, Kaeli Artesia-Mary Wilson, Kinley Joy Wilson, Kaylin Grace Wilson, and Karis Hope Wilson; and great-grandchildren: Atlas Logan Harris, Ezra Lavonne Harris, Harley Shae Harris, and Miles William Harris.
Memorial & Celebration of Life Services for the family will be held on July 16th at 2pm Freedom Church, 1205 Round Rock Avenue, Round Rock, TX 78664
