Born January 4, 1958 in Austin, Texas, he grew up loving and playing sports; baseball and basketball, spending time with friends and was known for his great sense of humor. He went to Anderson High School and attended The University of Texas at Austin where he joined the fraternity ‘Delta Tau Delta’, Texas State University and graduated from St. Edward’s University with a Bachelor of Arts degree. United States Postal Service was his next journey in which he was very proud of as he followed in his father’s footsteps and served as an elected official. He was also involved in the community, in particular the El Amistad Club of Round Rock.
He lived a grand life with family and friends by traveling, playing golf, attending Texas sporting events, and enjoying his daughter Lauren’s soccer games as coach and dad.
He was an honorable man and mentor and was adored and respected by everyone who knew him.
He is preceded in death by father Concepcion Garcia and sister Victoria Enos.
Al’s legacy is carried on by his loving wife Erma; daughter Lauren (Janell) and grandson Milo; mother Ernestine Garcia and sister Norma Garcia-Lane (Monte).
The family greatly appreciates all who were involved and reached out, as well as provided comfort during the time of his illness.
As much as our beloved Al will be missed here on Earth, we take comfort in knowing that he is now resting in the arms of our Lord.
