Cedar Creek, Texas.
Albert was born October 10, 1963 to Albert P. Flores and Mary E. Overby in Austin, Texas
where he spent the bulk of his life.
Growing up, Albert attended Zavala Elementary School and O'Henry Middle School before
going on to Stephen F. Austin High School. During his time in high school he sang in the choir
as a tenor and participated in multiple state level competitions, even coming in first.
After graduation Albert had a few different jobs, but the last 20 years of his career was spent
in pizza shops which he loved and had a real knack for.
Prior to that he worked as a Distribution Specialist for the Austin American Statesman where
he earned the title of employee of the month. The nomination letter, which was quoted in
the newspaper, stated: "Albert is a hard worker. His shift begins at midnight and in his job
as a distribution specialists, he livens up the branch which makes for a good working
environment for staff as well as for carriers. His commitment to the job is shown day in and
day out or in Albert's case, night in and night out."
While not working or spending time with his family, Albert loved watching sports. He loved
boxing, especially his favorite boxer, Mike Tyson, who he had a room in his home dedicated to.
He also loved football. His team was the Tennessee Titans, formerly the Houston Oilers, and
he collected lots of their memorabilia over the years.
Albert leaves behind his beloved wife of 28 years, Nancy and his children, Matthew, age 30;
Priscilla, age 28 and Joshua, age 25.
Albert liked to have fun and making people smile. His presence will be deeply missed.
A Memorial Service for Albert will be held Monday, March 6, 2023 at 1PM at Weed-Corley-Fish
Chapel, 2620 S. Congress Avenue, Austin, Texas 78704.
