Adrian was born on May 25th, 1974 in Austin, TX to parents Arturo Puentes and Rosa M. Puentes (Martinez). He graduated from McCallum High School in 1992. In 1992 he accepted a position as a Coordinator at Gardner Betts Juvenile Detention Center where he worked for more than 18 years. He loved working with kids and running into them here and there. When they got older, they would always thank him for the impact he had on their lives.
Adrian was a great man and a loving father. He loved his family and friends. He married in 1998 and the couple had one child together, his #1 and the joy of his life, Adrian Lewis Puentes Jr.
Adrian was active in all of his son's sports; coaching his teams in baseball, football, and basketball for over 8 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his dad and son, floating the Guadalupe River, weekends with family at Canyon Lake, playing darts and Texas Hold 'Em, and singing his favorite sings during karaoke nights at Raggedy Ann's. Besides his love for Tejano and country music, he could cut a rug dancing Tejano and country in the Tejano Ranch days. He loved golfing and football, especially his Dallas Cowboys! His family and friends will always remember him as a loving, kind, selfless, and humble person who never met a stranger. He was a friend in the truest sense, and a proud and loving father devoted to his family.
Adrian was always making time for gatherings and loved making events special. He will be, to say the least, greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his beloved grandfather, Gregorio Martinez Jr; great grandfather, Julian Aguilar; and Aunt Alicia Aguilar.
