Ada Lee Clark

II Timothy 4:7

Ada Lee Baker-Clark was born in Burton, Texas, Washington County, February 18, 1930. She was born to Will and Estella Baker. Both parents preceded her in death.

She professed a belief in Christ at an early age. After moving to Austin, Texas, she joined the Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend I.W. Robinson. She was a faithful Usher at Rising Star for over 60 years until her health began to fail in 2012.

Ada united in marriage with James Clark, to this union five children were born.

Ada was a hard working woman, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister. She always wanted everybody to be happy and would do anything to make that happen. She would catch the city bus every morning to go to work as a Housekeeper to make sure her family was taken care of. She became a single mother of five and made sure all five children graduated from High School.

She loved watching football and basketball games and playing Bingo. God saw fit that it was time for her to rest on September 10, 2022 at 10:20 a.m.

Ada was preceded in death by her parents, Will and Estella Baker; four brothers, Floyd, Bennie, Eppie, Lonnie; two sisters, Sally, Ora Lee; one son, Willie (Skip); and one grandson, Willie Jr. Ada is the last sibling of the Will and Estela Baker Family.

She leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Julie Garrett (James), Richard Clark (Norma), Georgia Turner (Denny-deceased), Nathaniel Clark; Daughter-in-law, Elia Clark (Willie-deceased); 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

A visitation for Ada will be held Friday, September 16, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, Texas 78752. A graveside service will occur Saturday, September 17, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Cook-Walden/ Capital Parks Cemetery, 14501 North IH-35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660.
