We are all saddened to hear that Bill passed away.  We are so grateful that Bill and Tia Iduina were able to spend time with us in Virginia last year.   We have such wonderful memories of our visits with Bill and Tia Iduina over the years.  He was such a kind and loving man with a wonderful sense of humor.

Some of my earliest memories include Grandpa Bill showing me or one of the other grandkids how to pull off pranks on the rest of the family, I’m sure that influence was greatly appreciated by our parents for years to come.

There was at least one Christmas eve that he phoned us up and convinced me that Santa was stuck in his chimney and wouldn’t be making it to our house that night. We made sure to find a nice lump of coal for his stocking the next year...

A lot of valuable lessons were learned when we lived close by and he would take me to the farm, the most important of which is that shooting cans with a BB gun is more fun than shovelling pig poop.

Even though we’ve often lived far apart I’ve been very fortunate to be able to make two trips to The Azores with him and Iduina in recent years and I’m very grateful to have been able to share that with them.

More important than anything my grandpa taught me the value of humour and to not take life too seriously and I greatly appreciate that.

Our deepest condolences to Iduina and and the entire family,  may Bill rest in peace.

Bill loved his grandchildren and was very excited when they were around. When our son was barely walking Bill bought him a motorcycle.  Lynda sold the bike and bought the children a trampoline instead. Part prank and part gift Bill had a wonderful time getting everyone excited about the motorcycle. 

Bill taught me to play euchre nearly 40 years ago and I cannot recall a boring card game ever. Bill had an enthusiasm for cards matched by few. It was contagious. If all else fails he could always flash you his teeth .  

We will always remember your big smile and hardy laugh.  Our hearts go out to Bill's family.

His warm  smile, quick humour, wonderful stories and wise advice will be missed.

Our family is sending our thoughts, prayers and love to Uncle Bill's family during this time.  I have so many good memories of him during our growing up years, always teasing us and making us laugh at the crazy things he said! The good times in Feversham on the River Road where he would make sure we had the snowmobiles fired up to go out  when Karen, Lynda and Perry were up! He always had our best interest at heart ...he was true blue that way! I will miss you Uncle Bill...until we meet again.  Love Ruthanne
