She will be sadly missed by loving husband of 69 years, Alexander "Alec" Nelson Charles Morris, her children Janet Eveleigh, Barbara Lane, Stewart Morris and Geoff Morris, her seven grandchildren Heather, Ryan, Kristen, Jamie, Stephanie, Wesley and Connor along with nine great-grandchildren Emmerson, Brandon, Malcolm, Meredith, Victoria, Savannah, Evelyn, Henley, Everett and the partners and spouses of all her descendants.
Pat was born March 17, 1927 in Eastbourne, a town on England’s southeast coast. She grew up during the post-depression, pre-World War II era, which deeply shaped her life, as well as Alec’s. Not caring for material things, she instead focused on family and what matters. After living through the difficulties of the war and post-war England, which saw the loss of her father and mother, Pat immigrated to Canada with her sister and soon to be husband, Alec. A loving mother and homemaker, she enjoyed preparing meals and baking for her family and being a steady influence on her family’s lives.
Pat and Alec enjoyed a long retirement together, in which they travelled frequently to enjoy seeing friends and their growing family. They lived a reserved life but were always generous to their family and the numerous causes they supported. Nothing made them happier than spending time with their loving family and the many young children that graced their homes.
In recent years, Pat was afflicted with Alzheimer’s and other health issues. However, she could still brighten everyone’s day with her enduring smile, her kindness, her sense of humour and easy manner.
For all those who helped care for Pat over the past few years, from her doctors, nurses In Kingston and Newmarket/Aurora to the staff at the Hollandview Trail, the family extends their warmest gratitude.
A visitation starting at 11:00 AM, followed by a funeral service celebrating her life at 12:00 PM will be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at Thompson Funeral Home, 530 Industrial Pkwy S, Aurora, Ontario L4G 6W8.
If desired donations to the Alzheimer's Society of York Region would be appreciated.
