On June 19, 2024 Mary Dekkema went home to be with the Lord. Predeceased by the love of her life Gerritt (2013). She is now resting in the arms of the Saviour. She will be missed greatly by her daughters and their husbands Joanne and Leo Kuiperij, Wendy and Harold Lenters, Kim and Andrew Beunk. Nana left a legacy of love and faith to her grandchildren Garrett (Victoria), Daniel (Kaylin), Marybeth (Justin), Harrison (Caitlin), Mackenzie (Sydney), Colleen (Kevin), Andrea, and Jake. Old Nana loved beyond measure her great grandchildren Garrett, Klara, Porter, Paisley, Max, and Millie.
She will also be missed by her sisters, Jo Moltmaker and Ank Dykema in Holland. Gerritt's family Enga (the late Klaas) and Peter Faber, Lloyd and Tina Dekkema, Ann and Abe Kamerman, Jean and Geert Pypker, Bert and Jenny Dekkema, Peter and Carol Dekkema. Will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, and good friends.
A visitation for Mary will be held Wednesday, June 26, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Thompson Funeral Home, 530 Industrial Parkway South, Aurora. A funeral service will occur Thursday, June 27, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Bethel Community Christian Reformed Church, 333 Davis Dr, Newmarket. A reception will follow in the Church Hall. A committal service following reception will occur Thursday, June 27, 2024 at Aurora Cemetery Corporation, 14253 Yonge St, Aurora.
