Still missing my friend Lori and hard to believe she has gone.  Lori and I would talk on the phone, text or Facebook Messenger for hours, exchange gifts and often had lunch together.  We laughed, cried and swapped stories and will never forget how happy she was when I revamped her resume.  My heartfelt sympathy to her family and hope they can recall all the happy memories!  Rest in peace my friend!

I was so sorry to hear the sad news of Lori suddenly passing away.  Lori & I grew up together, played baseball together, took dance lessons together, worked together and I had the honour of being in Lori’s wedding party.  Lori & I had not seen each other in quite some time, but I will always cherish our friendship and memories we had together. My deepest condolences go out to Lori’s family. I have many fond memories of the time Lori and I spent together when we both lived on Nelson Circle. We loved just hanging out at her house or mine, and no one has ever made me laugh as hard as Lori. I will miss her friendship. 

It has taken me ages to start to write this - I suppose I have been in shock and denial that you're gone from this Earth Lor... but today as you are laid to rest and remembered fondly by so many, it is time.
My dear friend for 50+ years who always had that sparkle in her eye and a smile that could light up a room :) So many wonderful years of cottages, baseball, our shared love of sun, sand & sea, and so MUCH laughter!!! I always used to tease you that you were 15 days older than me so the part about just turned 59 (and would want you to know that) made me smile.
We spoke only weeks ago and had planned to go for lunch after Christmas. You told me you had recently decided to buy a place in North Carolina to be closer to your boys and grandson. I was excited for you as I know you loved your sons immensely and they were always a huge part of your life, your pride and joy...  To them I offer my heartfelt condolences and to always remember what an amazing mom she was and how much she loved you. 
I hope your entire family, especially Diana your loving sister of 59 years, will be comforted by the memories of love and laughter shared with you Lor.

I'm so sorry to hear about Lori I was a very good friend of hers up to grade six my name was Cindy Wilkinson. There are sooo many fun times we had we both enjoyed exploring the field behind our houses and we played organized baseball and ringette together and Bob was always my coach.  I wish I had kept contact but I didnt know she was living in Aurora. I live in Newmarket. So sorry again for your loss.

Lori counselled me through the breakup of my marriage back in 2011. She was a sympathetic but practical voice and just the person I needed. After that, we developed a friendship and she was such a caring, supportive friend that I treasured.

As a photographer, I was delighted when she asked me to take these family pics for her in the summer of 2011.  I remember this day vividly. It was hot and humid but she was so incredibly proud of her boys, as you can see in her face.  Though the photos are over a decade old, I hope they can bring some happiness to her family and friends. 

I miss you Lori.  I'm shocked and crushed by your sudden passing. At least looking at these photos and remembering our friendship made me smile and laugh through my tears.  Love, Bettina

We have so many good memories of our two families spending time together at the cottage and Friday pizza nights.  Lori was a great friend to me as we were raising young children together. Even though we had not kept in touch in recent years I feel a deep sadness and emptiness knowing she has passed.  Thought and prayers to Nick, Sam and Max.  Also thinking of Diana as I know you were very close as sisters.


My hear is absolutely broken. Lori, you became my dear friend for 25 years. 
 When I moved with my children to Newmarket as a single mom,  you and I got to know each other through our children. Max and Ryan became instant besties and remained that way to this day.  Sam & Britt in the same class. We spent weekends at each others homes, Wasaga Beach trips, etc We were two hard working single moms leaning on each other raising our beautiful children. When the raising was done we kept in touch and spoke on a regular basis, even if we couldn't get together. I will miss those phone calls and get togethers.
Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.

My deepest condolences go out to Nick Sam and Max and their extended family. I met Lori in 1983 at the once called Borough or Etobicoke ( now the city of Toronto). We instantly hit it off and became great friends.  Besides working together, we played baseball took dance lessons went clubbing, spent holidays together with family, ate at St Hubert’s Restaurant every Friday but most of all, we developed a life long friendship and together we pushed our way threw  so many turns that life throws at us. She was the  only one I allowed to call me “Weechie”. We remained in touch throughout the years and without fail we always spoke on our birthdays.  I will miss those conversations my friend. RIP my sweet and beautiful Lori. I love you.  ❤️🙏

Lori and I met a few years back at our euchre club and I was immediately drawn to her caring way and beauty.  My heartfelt sympathy to her boys, who she loved so much and, as well, to all her family and friends.  Rest in peace my friend.  Will miss you a lot hun!

It is with deepest condolences to our family to hear of our cousin Lori’s passing.  We had an amazing time on our vacation, together lori and i were reminiscing about our life and families growing up. We were planning another vacation after her surgery. It’s been awhile since we’ve seen each other but I bet if we saw each other again it would be just like it was. She would greet me with a smile, a laugh and want to know how everyone was. 
So many memories living on  Nelson Circle.  Weekend afternoons with our families hanging out by her pool which led into dinners.

I met Lori shortly after my divorce. I felt I had failed my kids and was worried what the future would look like. Lori was a strong independent woman that showed me you could have a wonderful life with building friendships with other women. You don't need to be married to be happy. “All we need is our kids and our friends” we used to say. God bless.

My deepest condolences to you all for my dear friend Lori. I miss her so much. I miss our dinners out together. I miss telling her "you drive too slow", I miss her telling me "you drive too fast." I miss her perfect imitations that would make me  laugh so hard my stomach hurt, we laughed a lot. We had some great car conversations. I know, small things but big things to me. I will miss inviting her to my place and making her favourite meal with a glass of wine and her always asking "do you have any salt?" she loved her salt, and her wine! I will miss seeing her at the pool where she worshipped the sun and tiptoed slowly into the water even when it was 85 degrees and conspicuously sneaking around the corner to turn up the heat, such a rebel, that's our Lori! Lori was so kind and caring and she always made time for me when I struggled with conflicts, she always had the right and brutally honest answers and I loved that about her. 
We had many conversations about our boys since we both had 3, Max, Sam and Nick - you were her life as well as Heron. She couldn't wait to see her boys/grandson and plan her visits to NC where she got her fill of them that would last for months. Tom - she and I used to say that we had the "best ex-husbands in the world" she always spoke so fondly of you and your generosity. Diana - her best friend and confidant, she absolutely adored you and your family, your place was her solace from the world. She loved how you spoiled her and made her feel so loved and cared for, she never wanted to come home. She appreciated everything you did for her and I wanted you to know that that is how she spoke and thought of you. 
I will forever cherish my friendship with Lori but this is not the end, I WILL see you again!!! The place where there are no more tears, no more pain and no more suffering. A place where there is only peace, love and joy. Sappy I know, but true. Be assured Byrnes family, Lori is in that place.

Lori and I had so many great family times and laughs together over the years.   I miss her dearly .   As you can see in this picture we are overjoyed to be going through the spectacular corn maze together.  LOL.  It will never be the same without you.  Your “Petey”

I am so terribly saddened and shocked by Lori’s sudden passing.  So much left unsaid.  We were friends since grade school.  We played baseball, went to both our family cottages and continued that friendship into my our adult life. We attended each other’s weddings and shared many of our ups and downs.  Not too long ago Lori said to me we would grow old together and I truly believed that to be true. RIP Lor we will miss you!  I will forever hold the memories of all the fun times and the laughs we had in my heart. 

Lori had a heart of kindness, I always enjoyed the time I spent chatting with her. We often sat together at our boys hockey games & cheered together. She worked at Southlake Regional Health Centre and I often saw her when I was volunteering in the ER department. Many chats there too! We will all miss your beautiful smile Lori. My sincere condolences to Lori’s precious boys, her sweetie little grandson & the Byrnes family.

We are deeply heartbroken that Lori is no longer with us.  She will be missed by so many.  

Lori was loved and she had so much love to give.  She loved her mom, dad and sister and had a very special love for her nieces and nephew.   

Lori’s greatest love was for her boys and she would do anything for them.   Family was everything to Lori and she had the biggest heart. 

Diana and I (Lynne) met in Middle School and also played baseball while being coached by their dad Mr. Liberty.  Our friendship continued on all through High School until this day.  Diana and Lori’s mom and dad were amazing loving people and welcomed me into their home with love at all times.  I truly felt like part of their family and thought of them as my second mom and dad.   Good times were had by all and there were a lot.

Lori was a fun loving girl with a great sense of humour.  I remember when she had plans to go out with her friends.  She would get all dressed up and she looked awesome.  It was all about the hair and make-up and off she would go to have a great time.  Lori was beautiful and kind.

We are thankful to have had Lori in our lives and we will hold our memories close to our hearts.

We all look so happy here.   If the truth be told we had gone out to dinner beforehand.  We were all so stuffed, the studio was super hot and my dad between smiles was telling the photographer to “Get this done quick!”

I miss my little sister,  my one and only sister.  I am heartbroken and overwhelmed.   We shared a life time of memories  and loved each other deeply.  My life is forever changed.  Diana

Our condolences to Lori’s boys and family,  she was such a nice person. Loved to have a good time and always quick with a kind word.  Years ago we used to play euchre together in a womens group and we’d all have such fun. Our boys Demetri and Max would play together when they were little,  Lori would be at the door picking Max up with a smile on her face! So sad to hear of Lori’s passing, she was taken way too soon  :(

You are the best Aunt anyone could have ever wished for. Growing up you spoiled us and loved us unconditionally. You made sure to make special moments with all your kids (my sister, brother and myself included). As I grew older you were always my Auntie Lori but you also became one of my bests friends. We were looking so forward to our next trip away once your hips were fixed and you could walk again.
You would come over every Sunday and we’d order in dinner.  We would  “watch” a movie and talk all the way through, while Raina did the zoomies   on the couch, and finally fell asleep.  In the summer we’d go to a patio for dinner.  We had to find a table that had sun for me and shade for her.
We has a very strong, loving friendship.  We always said that as long as we had each other, we were good!  There was nothing we didn’t know about each other.  
With all her health issues and sadness,  Lori always had  a beautiful smile on her face with a positive “hi, how are ya?”
Lori absolutely loved Diana.  I wanted a Diana too.
She also loved her boys (including Heron)and wanted so much to be with them.  It pained her 
they were all so far away.  She was such a great loving Aunt too.  Nothing she wouldn’t have done for her family.

loved by her.

Lori was funny and always laughing her opinion nit always correct made her what she was LORI spent vacation time dinners and lori loved card parties.  Our trip to Cuba was great. Lor and her beloved sons on the beaches of the Dominican.  Lor and I took our sons for a fun-filled week that turned out to be one of the best trips I've ever taken! I recall we agonized over the decision of whether to take a more subdued catamaran cruise or a boisterous pirate booze cruise. Figuring the fellas would enjoy the latter, that is what we opted to do. I cherish those happy memories of our boys dancing to the island music,  totally enjoying the experience...I treasure those memories that Lor and I created together....

Ladies in black! I recall this is a pic of a Christmas get-together that Lori hosted, although not all the attendees are in the picture.  The plan was to enjoy our pot-luck dinner in the party room at Lori's condo. Unfortunately, while carrying the large, heavy aluminum-foil pan of chicken to the table, it collapsed and all the chicken and sauce made a huge mess on the dining room carpet. Naturally, Raina had a hay day doing her best to help us clean it up while we all scrambled amidst somewhat horrified laughter. We salvaged what we could and carried on with the party!

She loved to come to my place in Barrie and enjoyed lolling in the hot tub. The last time we "tubbed," we spotted Elon Musk's Starlink in the night sky. Not knowing what it was, we were somewhat freaked out thinking aliens perhaps? Too many cocktails?
