Suddenly on November 22, 2011. Beloved daughter of Jim and Beth. Dear sister of Kim Harper-Daynes and her husband Todd, and Ken and his wife Tina. Sadly missed by her nieces and nephews Joseph, Ben, Brooke, and Gwen. A private family service has been held. If desired donations in Karen's memory to Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre would be appreciated.
A MESSAGE OF THANKS
Thank you so much for sharing your memories and pictures of Karen. We are so pleased you had the fortunate opportunity to have touched her life and perhaps even shared a smile, a laugh, a silly moment or some other memorable event(s).
The common thread throughout the many condolences we have received is “Dance”. Be it her times at her Ballet School in Unionville, Unionville Arts York, Mandel Entertainment, Bangor Lodge, University of Victoria Dance Team, Toronto Argos Cheerleader (what’s a field goal???) and Dance Alive (Muskoka) or just out celebrating and Dancing, Dancing.
You have captured her spirit: inspirational, talented, creative; vibrant, witty, funny; poise and grace; gentle, kind, loving; caring, sharing, thoughtful; sunny and bright; pleasant and delightful; special and an incredible, amazing soul.
We are extremely proud of Karen and how she conducted herself on her journey through life.
Again, we thank you for your kind words and sharing the GREAT times. She will be missed!
Sincerely Beth, Jim, Kim & Ken
The following is a poem Karen wrote and shared with some of you. Enjoy!!!
My Shoes
By Karen Harper
You've helped me mold my shoes,
Not the kind you buy from a department store,
specialty shop or vintage market.
The kind of shoes I'm talking about
are only found in the rarest of places,
they are truly one of a kind
and only fit one person.
They are so comfortable and easy to walk in,
I can walk forwards, backwards
and sideways in these shoes.
I can even dance in them!
Even though they are comfy and simple,
they are truly diverse.
The pair matches, compliments each other
Because they are the same but different.
They are plain but colourful,
Boring but funky,
For inside and outside,
To be dressed up or down.
Serving so many functions,
These shoes are purposeful and I owe their creation to you!
Thank You
