Joyce was born on April 24, 1930 in Newmarket, ON to Emma and Gordon McKelvey. Filling out the McKelvey family were her 3 brothers, George, the late Henry and the late Murray and one sister, Kay.
She married her late husband, Chris on July 24, 1948 and they were married for 69 years until his passing in 2017. Loving mother to Carol and her husband Dean Thompson, Rick, and his wife Julie, Shirley and her husband Bill Mowat, Don and his wife Cathy, and Heather. Dearest grandmother of 10 grandchildren and great grandmother of 13 great grandchildren.
Joyce loved to cook, bake and garden but her deep love for her family was her greatest joy.
She lived a full life and will be dearly missed by all her family and friends.
Visitation will take place at Thompson Funeral Home, 530 Industrial Parkway S., Aurora on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.
A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of the Funeral Home on Thursday September 19, 2024 at 11:30 am, followed by a reception before the burial at Queensville Cemetery, Queensville, ON.
