John Dennis Ramsell

Passed away on Thursday, May 22, 2014 at Chartwell Aurora Long Term Care Facility, at the age of 78. He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth Elsie Ramsell (nee Kingyens), the loving father of Janice Elizabeth Conn, Sheryl Winnifred Fitzgerald and John Laurence Ramsell and the cherished grandfather to Ryan John and Evan Sean Fitzgerald and Grace Haviland Ramsell. John attended St Andew’s College, Aurora, Ontario where he was an active athlete. He graduated as a mining engineer from Michigan Technological University, Houghton, Michigan . From 1958 to 1966, John worked as a ventilation engineer at Quemont Mine, Noranda, Quebec, Mackintyre Porcupine Mine, Timmins, Ontario and, as an engineer for Allen Potash, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan overseeing the sinking of their shaft through the Blairmore strata. In 1966, John joined IBM to market process control hardware to the mining industry in British Columbia including COMINCO and DAISY (direct dialing) software and Hardware to the major telecommunication companies in Western Canada. John will be missed by family and friends. There will be no memorial service by specific request.
