January 14, 1937- March 11, 2023
It is with profound sadness our family announces the passing of Connie Walker on March 11, 2023. Connie was born in Toronto, Ontario, and lived in King City for the past 47 years, recently moving to Delmanor in Aurora.
Connie was tremendously kind and thoughtful. Her patience and selflessness will be remembered by her family and friends. Connie cared greatly for everyone around her, a true empath. She had a great sense of humour, finding laughter and joy in the little things.
As a young woman, she portaged and boated with her young children and husband to a small cabin without running water, electricity or ‘plumbing’ affording them the opportunity of wonderful experiences and friendships with family. A true good sport, and for that we are immensely grateful.
Connie was an inquisitive soul who loved reading, had a strong interest in history, enjoyed travel, listening to music, and exploring the wonders of life in quiet conversation.
Connie will be deeply missed by Wray, her loving husband of 64 years (sweetheart of 68 years), her children Beth and Tom, and grandchildren Davida and Matthew, all of whom she adored. Connie was the youngest of three sisters, including Kathy and Barbara. Connie’s unconditional love for her many nieces, nephews, in-laws and lifelong friends was reciprocated due to her kind hearted nature.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Connie’s memory can be made to charities she generously supported: Doctor’s without Borders https://www.doctorswithoutborders.ca or Diabetes Canada https://www.diabetes.ca
A celebration of Connie’s well-lived and well-loved life will be announced in the future.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.ThompsonFH-Aurora.com for the Walker family.
