Trudydee Mc Guffin-Woodard

On September 28, 2022, Trudydee McGuffin Woodard passed away at the age of 78 years. Her battle with esophageal cancer ended after complications with an esophagectomy. She passed peacefully with her youngest daughter and son-in-law holding her hand. She is survived by her sister Sherry Jean McGuffin, her son Dale Allen Short, daughters Patti Ann Short and Carol Annette Walsh, 6 grandsons, 1 great grandson and 3 great granddaughters. She was predeceased by her first husband Charles James Short and her second husband Larry Jay Woodard. She will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by her friends at the Affinity Copperleaf community where she lived the last chapter of her life.

Trudydee McGuffin Woodard was the daughter of Samuel L. McGuffin and Doris Jean McGuffin. She was born in Billings, Montana on March 27, 1944. Her favorite place to live was in Colorado and considered this her home. Trudydee was truly talented. She loved to learn new things and graduated with 3 degrees. Her most fulfilling job was being a hospice nurse. She always shared that she truly learned to live by caring for people who were dying. Her passion was crocheting, but she also painted/fired ceramics, made homemade candles, macrame and canned fruits and vegetables. She loved chocolate, thrift store shopping and watching true crime documentary shows. She will be most remembered for her big heart, generosity, making you feel like you mattered, her sharp skills at playing cribbage and her infectious laugh. She will be truly missed but loved forever.

A celebration of Trudydee’s life is scheduled October 22, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., at Affinity Copperleaf located at 22000 E Quincy Ave, Aurora, CO 80013. She will be laid to rest with her second husband, Larry Jay Woodard, October 25, 2022, at the Ft. Logan National Cemetery.
