Sheila Rae Smith Parmalee

Sheila, 68, was born in Aurora, Colorado in 1943. She passed away unexpectedly of heart failure on July 20, 2011. She is survived by son’s Toby Delaney, Timothy Huntington-Shaw and Todd Delaney all of Metro Denver; granddaughter Cheree Heuer of Las Vegas, Nevada; grandson’s Christian Delaney and Ashton Delaney of Metro Denver; sisters Rose, Vivian, Bonnie, Deanna and Sharon; and brothers Junior, Maynard, Lawrence, Dale, Lucky and Pete. Preceding her in death are her two sisters Bobbie and Donna.

Her career extending over the last two decades was spent in various positions at Children’s Hospital including the oncology, neurology and customer service departments. During that time she touched many lives and always treated the patients and their families like they were her own. She celebrated with them in their victories and cried with them at their losses.

The love that she had for her family and friends was unsurpassed. She strived on a daily basis to make sure that everyone she loved was well taken care of.

She was an exuberant and extraordinary person and we will all miss her laughter and smiles.

On Wednesday July 27, 2011 a public viewing will be held from 4pm until 8pm at the Advantage Aurora Chase Chapel located at 1095 Havana St.; Aurora, Colorado 80010.

The memorial service will be held on Saturday July 30, 2011 at 10:30am at the Park Hill United Methodist Church at 5209 Montview Ave.; Denver, Colorado 80207. There will be a reception following the service at the church.
