She was born to Ralph and Ruth Damm on August 4, 1939 in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, where she lived all of her life until she married Jose Lujan Camacho on August 8, 1959. Jose was enlisted in the US Air Force and together they started their family as they traveled to different duty stations in Wisconsin, Guam, Japan and California, before finally retiring to Denver, CO in 1972. Mary and Jose were married for 22 years until his unexpected passing in 1981. She was also preceded in death by her brother Butch and sister Betty.
She is survived by her six children; Greg, Sissy, John, Robert, Tracy and Dean. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren; Christina Brown, Gregory Camacho, Candice Camacho, Angella Wells, Jimmy Madrid, Anthony Camacho, Christopher Camacho, Michael Camacho, Nickolas Camacho, Malia Magele, Asomalu Magele, Taylor Keeven and Dylan Camacho, and 3 great-grandchildren; Austin Hardy, Ayden Wells and Addalynn Brown.
A viewing will be held Monday, May 5th from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at Advantage Aurora Chase Chapel, 1095 Havana Street, Aurora, CO. Her mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, May 6th at 10:00 am at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 13120 E. Kentucky Avenue, Aurora, CO, with a reception to follow, prior to her interment at Ft. Logan National Cemetery at 1:30 pm.
