I had the pleasure of meeting and working with Jimmy in the1990’s at James Coney Island. He was and remained an integral piece of the legacy of the iconic brand. Jimmy had incredible magnetism, was extremely kind and enormously proud of the company his father and uncle started in 1923.  I truly enjoyed working  with him and learning the importance of commitment to the original recipe of the chili and chili sauce and to customer service. He made me laugh with his saying that “At James Coney Island, we’re guilty of treating our onions better than we treat our wives.” Rest In Peace , my friend! I hope you eat lots of Coney Island Originals with the real Big Dog! ❤️ Sue S.

I grew up in the Montrose area near the Papadakis family  home.  The area was primarily inhabited by Greeks and Italians.  We all got along well together riding bicycles and skating on the sidewalks.  Jimmy and his sister Tacia were my friends.  Over the years Jimmy never changed he was always a very kind, gentle soul.  May God Bless him and he rest in eternal peace.
 
   




I've known Jimmy since the early 1970's through SMU events initially and then we were in the same YPO-WPO Forum for many years as well. I considered him a dear friend with a deep, gentle and good soul....he really cared about other people even when life kicked him around unfairly. He had those soulful dark eyes and, when we were in a conversation together, they looked right through you with the utmost of sincerity. I will miss him tremendously.

I was fortunate to grow up near the Pappadakis family. Jimmy was my sister JoAnnes God Father. Jimmy was such a kind man and will be missed. May His Memory be Eternal. 

So sad to hear of Jimmy's passing.
He was a good friend and fraternity brother at SMU. I was shocked and impressed the first time I saw him after college attending the steam table at JCI downtown for he literally worked his way up to great success.  A great example for some of the younger generation who want instant success without earning it. We lost touch when I moved out of downtown, but I still remember his graciousness and smile.  We have lost a great man.
