Eilene Henderson, of Aurora, CO, died peacefully on March 2, 2014. She was born on June 3, 1920 in Julesburg, CO. Her family moved to Watkins in 1924. She met Swede Henderson in college at Greeley and they were married on June 2, 1941. Together, they built and operated the Country Manor Motel and Green Acres Adult Community. Eilene was a past Worthy Grand Matron of Eastern Star, as well as a 70 year member of the Watkins Women's Club. She was also an active supporter of the Heart Guild, the Cancer Society, and an avid Bronco fan.
Eilene's enjoyment was always her family. She is survived by her son, Larry (Denise) Henderson and her daughter, Lani (Jim) Hood; 5 wonderful grandchildren: Rene, Eric, Kali, Britta and Julie; and 6 great-grandchildren: Carter, Avery, Addison, Kieran, Jackson and Mason.
Her Celebration of Life will be held Monday, March 10, 2014 at 11:00 am at Cherry Hills Community Church Chapel. Interment will follow at Fairmount Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation in Eilene's name be made to the Porter Hospice Residence at 5020 Arapahoe Road in Centennial.
