Daryl James LeClair, 86, of Aurora, Colorado, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home on Wednesday, March 18, 2015. Daryl was born April 17, 1928 in Currie, Minnesota to parents Lester and Louise LeClair.
Daryl married Anita Groetken in Sibley, Iowa on June 28, 1950. They had been married for 47 years when Anita passed away February 8, 1997.
Daryl graduated from Ashton High School in Ashton, Iowa, and farmed near Sibley Iowa until moving to Sheldon, Iowa where he was employed by Walnut Grove Feeds. Anita and Daryl raised three children, Terry, Renae, and Doug while in Sheldon and later in Emmetsburg Iowa where Daryl was promoted to Depot Manager as the company expanded into feed and fertilizer. Later after raising their family, Daryl and Anita moved to Aurora, Colorado, where they both worked in the Denver School System until their retirement.
Daryl was one of four children - Leatrice Honkomp of Sheldon Iowa, Lane LeClair of Spirit Lake Iowa, and Diane Huenerfauth of Windsor, Colorado.
Daryl was preceded in death by parents Lester and Louise, his wife Anita, his sister Leatrice Honkomp and brother Lane LeClair. He is survived by his three children, Terry LeClair (Dianna) of Bixby, Oklahoma, Renae Sherlock (Greg) of Pulaski, Tennessee, Doug of Aurora, Colorado, plus 9 grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 24 at 5:30pm at Advantage Aurora Chase Mortuary Chapel at 1095 Havana, Colorado 80011. Services will be held at 10:00 am at Pius Tenth Catholic Church in Aurora, Colorado. Interment will follow immediately at Fairmont Cemetary 430 South Quebec, Denver, Colorado 80247.
