It was an honor to meet Wayne when I was an Associate Member. It was surprising when he sent me a friend request on Facebook, and remembered who I was. I am proud to call him a friend and even more so to call him a Brother. You will be missed Brother Roberts.

I grew up listening to Wayne on the radio and had the honor to be his friend on Facebook. I loved playing the music trivia game with him and was always happy when I won. I will miss you my music friend but you are playing the game with the many of the orignal singers. How awesome it that. To his family I am so sorry for your loss and sending prayers for strengh in the days ahead.

When Steve Brackett first introduced me to Moose, I was amazed at how long his lashes were and how easy he smiled.  It was five minutes later that I learned his amazing ability to make people around him laugh!    He was in our 1970 wedding and Steve's best friend.  It is hard to think of his lively and fun loving spirit to be gone.  He had an incredible voice - singing and his radio voice.   He was able to make people connect whether they were in his presence or just listening over the radio.
Sincere sympathy to his whole family and host of friends.  My family will always think of him fondly.  RIP, Moose.

Goodness, I remember when Wayne came to a finder binder years ago. Keep the new reports in heaven.

Wayne W. Roberts was my friend and my brother, though I hadn't seen him for over 40 years.  He was a radio legend here in Georgia, and will be missed by everyone.  To Susie and all of his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, I feel your loss and my prayers are with all of you.  I had prayed that you could come to the gathering that I hosted in November, but alas, Wayne didn't think he was up to it.  Now I won't get to talk to him again until I cross that rainbow bridge. So sorry to hear of Wayne's passing (Moose). WE affectionately called him Moose when we were playing music in the 60's. I played in the band the Kastel's with him and Bruce Purvis. I will always remember him singing James Brown songs and really getting down with it. He will be missed.

I was blessed to have known Wayne.  When he called the 911 center we had brief discussions and I learned a lot of the area.  After he left WGAC I missed those chats we had.  There is no doubt his voice is missed by all.  Enjoy the memories that you have as I do and my prayers to you and yours.

Wayne, you may have left this world for the next but be assured you'll remain in the memories of all those fortunate enough to have known you. Your great sense of humor and easily recognizable voice of the news as WBBQ Mobile 2 will remain an outstanding part of Augusta's history. Godspeed my friend.

To this day, I still remember being in the lobby of the Gillis Gymnasium at BPC during an alumni reception and hearing your distinct voice while you were talking to someone else.  I knew immediately it was Wayne Roberts from WBBQ, mobile 2!!!  What irony that after so many years of listening to you on the radio, I was able to meet you at our Alma-Mater.  God Bless you Mr. Roberts.  Susie and the rest of the family are in our thoughts and prayers.

Wayne will be missed. He was funny and thoughtful; he loved his family and his community.

Moose, I now value the call from you about two weeks ago.  That was about the best hour and half phone session that will stay with me till I see you again.  You were a great friend starting at Brewton-Parker through Georgia and the many gathering of the BP Bash group that you helped to start and hosted the first one.  Our time rooming at the UGA and especially the trailer(one BR) that we shared along with clothes will live in my mind till then.  As a fellow bass singer, roomie, basher, and all in between, thanks for the memories.  May the Good Lord bless and keep you and especially give comfort to your family through this separation time of grief.

Wayne was a friend and someone I have known since high school. He and I had a working relationship prior to his leaving the news car trade. I will remember him and pray for his family know God will get them through even this. Love through Christ.

Wayne, looking back, I probably should have chosen you or Tharp to be my big brother.  But had I chosen you, it would have made this that much more painful.  God this is a bitter pill to swallow.  I pray for Susie and your family, that they may find comfort in our Lord and Savior, and know that you are now in their company.
