Walter Etterlee

A visitation for Walter will be held Friday, March 7, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 2524 Lumpkin Road, Augusta, Georgia 30906, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM.

Walter will be laid to rest in Hillcrest Memorial Park, 2700 Deans Bridge Rd, Augusta, Georgia 30906.

Walter is preceded in death by his parents John and Elva James Etterle and his first wife Sallie Etterlee.

Walter is survived by his wife Katherine Boone Etterlee and his son Chris Etterlee (Nancy).

Walter graduated from Hephzibah High School in 1965 where he lettered in basketball and football. He was later a pipefitter by trade and a member of Local 150 Plumbers and Steamfitters union. He retired from both the Savannah River Site in 1995 and Richmond County Sheriff's office in 2012. He was an avid Georgia Bulldogs football and basketball fan as well as the Atlanta Braves.

He was a loving husband, father and friend. He will be greatly missed, but his memories will be treasured forever.
