Rosemary M. Padgett

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 in the Elliott Sons Funeral Home-Lumpkin Rd. Chapel with Rev. Terry B. Joyner officiating. Burial will follow in Westover Memorial Park. The family will receive friends starting at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Rosemary was born March 16, 1930 in Nashville, TN. She was the daughter of the late Myrtle and Robert Murphy. She was preceded in death by her husband Michael J. Padgett, daughter Candace Burson, and a brother Robert Murphy. Rosemary was a homemaker and a wonderful support for her husband who served in the Georgia House of Representatives and Senate. Rosemary loved Atlanta and worked with the Legislative Ladies Group. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, playing cards and dancing. She and her husband supported the Augusta International Speedway. Her favorite holiday was Christmas and 4 generations of family have celebrated at Mama Ro's and Papa Mike's home.

Rosemary is survived daughters Barbara Crenshaw, and Beverly (Alvin) Mixon, Lynn (John) Jones and son Michael Padgett, Jr., Brother Don (Doris) Murphy, Grandchildren Robert Bragg, Jessica Burson, Teresa Mock, Curtis Crenshaw, Jonathan Mixon, Lyndsey Jones, Stephen Neal, Amy Howard, and Dina Jones. 15- Great-grandchildren.
