Roscoe W. Lloyd

Mr. Lloyd retired from the United States Army after 24 years of service and served in the Vietnam War. While in the military, he earned the national Defense Service Medal, Vietnam, Cross of Gallantry with Palm, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation; 3 0/S Bars, Army Service, Ribbon Overseas Service Ribbon (4); Good Conduct Medal (7thAward); Army Commendation Medal (1st OLC); Joint Service Commendation Medal; Vietnam Service Medal (6 campaigns) . After serving in the military, Mr. Lloyd work at Regent Security and retired after working there from 1984 to 2010. Mr. Lloyd loved watching his favorite sports teams, the Dallas Cowboys, Oklahoma sooners, and the Atlanta Braves.

Mr. Lloyd is preceded in death by his loving wife, Penelope Irene Lloyd; daughter, Kelly Leigh Lloyd; granddaughter, Jessica Farrell; grandson, Dallas Lloyd; parents, Charlie, and Lee Lloyd; and brother John Lloyd. Mr. Lloyd is preceded in death by all of his sister in laws and his brother in law. Survivors include his daughter, Tammisue A, Lloyd -Robbins of Hephzibah, GA; Sons, David Lloyd (Rhonda) of Roland, OK and Billy Lloyd (Lisa) of Avon, IN; siblings Irvin Lloyd of Zion, IL; Mary Ida Chalkee of Norman, OK; Jim Lloyd of Atoka, OK and Anthony Lloyd of Bokchito, OK; grandchildren Micheale Jenkins of Augusta, GA, Michael Lloyd (Hope) of Charleston, AR, Renee Lloyd Roland, OK, Alexander Lloyd of Avon, IN, Kendi Lloyd of Branch, AR and Mason Lloyd of Avon, IN; great-granddaughter, Alexis; and also survived by a host of other family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6-8pm, Friday, October 14, 2022 at Elliott Sons Funeral Home on Lumpkin Road. A memorial service will be held at 10am on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at Windsor Spring Baptist Church, 3692 Windsor Spring Road Hephzibah, GA with Rev. Paul Robinson officiating. Inurnment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park with full Military Honors. The Repass will be at Windsor Spring Baptist Church.
