She was born in Roaring Spring, PA to John and Anna Curfman on July 22, 1938. She married Donald Eagler on June 6, 1959. They enjoyed 58 years before his passing on July 14, 2017.
Patricia was a proud military wife until her husband’s retirement in 1975. After that, she spent two years completing her secretary certificate at Augusta Tech. She worked as a secretary for the Richmond County Department of Education – Curriculum Center from 1977 until retiring in 1999.
She was active in her community and very involved with St. Joseph Catholic Church – specifically the Catholic Women’s Organization. She enjoyed traveling to the mountains and camping; she was an excellent crocheter and more than anything she enjoyed being with her family.
Patricia is survived by her son, Donald E. (Sherry) Eagler, Jr.; daughter, Susan (Clifton) Hires; brothers, Norman D. (Debbie) Curfman and Terry W. (Connie) Curfman; grandchildren, Adam (Stephanie) Eagler, Brad (Dana) Eagler, Clifton “CJ” (Courtney) Hires and Zack (Rachel) Hires and great-grandchildren, Carter, Addison, Adalyn, Ashleigh, Ava Grace, Benjamin, McKenzie, Theodore, Hannah, Abby, Brice, Leighton and Holden.
She is predeceased by her parents; her husband; her daughter, Sharon L. Carmain and brothers, Harry L. Curfman, William S. Curfman and David R. Curfman.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Patricia’s honor.
The family would like to extend their thanks to Walton Rehab, NHC Nursing Home in North Augusta and the staff at University Hospital for their time and dedication to providing care.
A Vigil will be held at Elliott Sons funeral home 2524 Lumpkin Road on Friday, September 17, 2021 at 6pm. Visitation will continue until 8pm. A memorial Mass will be officiated by Father Christopher Awiliba at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 9am. Committal services will immediately follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
