The Angels of our Holy Father came peacefully to take Lillian Bright Duncan (Lil) to be with her Holy Father on December 10, 2017, at the age of 81. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends whom she had touched throughout her life. Lil was born on June 24, 1936, to the late John and Sweetie Mae Bright. Lil was predeceased by her sister Evelyn Jordan.
Lil confessed her faith in Christ at an early age and was a member of First Baptist Church, Hamlet, NC. Upon moving to Hephzibah, GA, she became a member of Broadway Baptist Church, Augusta, GA.
Lil leaves loving memories to her husband, Henry Duncan to whom she was married to for over 45 years; two daughters, Karen Casey (James); Niesha Vallee (Brian); Augusta, GA, and one son, Douglas Duncan (Brittany); Newnan, GA; two grandsons, Alton Fletcher “Tyrone”, Bryce Vallee; five granddaughters, Nakisha Anderson, Nicole Riley, Daja Mims, Avery and Aria Duncan; sisters, Dorothy Ingram, Hamlet, NC; Johnnie Benjamin (Holmes), Columbia, SC; and Shirley Adams, Hephzibah, GA, whom was raised as her daughter. She also leaves behind nine great grandchildren, Kenyetta, Alton, Preston, Ian, Jasmine, Jayla, Caleb, Cameron, Jackson and two great-great grandchildren, Miyah and Maison.
She had a special bond with her nieces, Pamela Jordan and Lori Burch, and her close friends, Corrine Douglass and Willie Mae Crittenden.
A memorial service will be held at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 2524 Lumpkin Rd., Augusta, GA, Saturday, December 16, 2017, 2:00PM.
