Dear Daddy Kevin, I know there were times that we didn't get along. But that never mattered in the long run. You may have only been here for 14 years but it felt like forever. You never treated us like your step-kids. You always made us feel like your children. I will always remember the things you thought us while you were here. Yes it's true your body is gone. But your memory will live on forever with us all. So after saying all that. I Love You Daddy & Will Always Have You In My Heart FOREVER!!!!

To the Shirley Family,
     I am so sorry for your loss.  It was a privilige and honor to know Kevin (My Big Daddy) and to be able to take care of him.  I was there to watch him  fight with every thing that he had in him.  But now he is in Heaven with his mom and is in peace.  He is no longer suffering, and we all just have to remember that he is in a better place now.  Remember even though it feels like it, God never gives us more than we can handle. I will continue to pray for all of you and let me know what we can do to help you or if you just want to talk, I am here anytime.  Rest in peace Big Daddy!  We love you!

We want to extend our sympathies to the entire family.  I (dede) grew up with all the Shirley boys in the Kroger Kamping Klub because my dad (Ed Campbell) worked with Ed at Kroger - and for several summers the drivers and warehousemen had this camping club that met like a couple of times a month during camping season at various parks in Indiana - and not even a year ago in May 2010 you had to bury your mother, Ed's wife.  This had had to be very hard on the whole family - so much to bear in less than a year.   My husband, Ernie Wright, knows Ed as a driver as he has worked in the Kroger stores for almost 43 years now.    We are very sorry for all of you.

i have known kevin seems like all my life but he has been my baby brother-in-law for almost 37 years.. i have watched kevin grow into a wonderful young man  have watched him go thru this fight from the start.. he will be deeply missed.. we love you uncle   sissy and bubby we will continue to be there for janet and the kids any time she needs us..... we love you janet and kids with all our heart and we loved kevin just as much r.i.p kev no more fighting no more suffering.. you are in gods hands and tell mom and stephanie we miss then terribly...

I grew up with Kevin.  We used to shoot pool in his attic and get all tanked-up on Mountain Dew... rode to school together in the back of the old Ford F150 with the bench seat put there.  Kevin broke my ankle playing baseball so badly that my foot was dangling off to the side and I wore a cast for the entire summer.  We're all getting to the age where some will leave us.  Those of us who remain will fondly remember those days when we were kids and had absolutely nothing to do but have fun.  We all miss those days.  Kevin will be missed.
