Brad and I were at Cracker Barrel today and I had a biscuit....for the first time in probably a year.  I made the waiter go get Blackberry preserves out of habit, and I made it up with butter and preserves.  Pretty normal, I guess, but when I took a bite, literally I saw your sweet face and  thought about you so intensely that I sat there with a mouth full of biscuit crying and unable to hardly swallow.  To think I would have never known the difference between jelly and preserves without you, mama...truly you taught me so much about the sweetness of life...

Dear: Sweet Doug & Brenda,

I never knew your mother, but what I've heard; she was an amazing gracious lady. I know this time is hard & she is greatly missed by you & your family, but just know that she rests peacefully in the arms of our Heavenly Father. You will again one day be blessed with her presence, until then you & your family will be thought of and prayed for.

After two weeks, mama, I find that I think of who you were before more and more often.  I am grateful for that...I miss you and often wish we were discussing the children, their accomplishments, our dreams for them and the missing ingredient for a recipe.  I miss the every day we use to share...thank you for who you've been to me.  I look forward with hope to the day of continuing so many of our conversations...the many we shared and that never ended in my mind...just had pauses until the next time.

Jeanette was a very loving person to her family and friends. She will surely be missed by everyone who knew her. God bless the family. I love you all.

When I joined this family 31 years ago little did I know just how my life would be blessed by my dear Mother-in-law. I use the term Mother-in-law, however – Mama - always embraced me and loved me as if I were her very own.
   Mama was the epitome of grace. I never heard her speak ill of another person. She was kind, loving and giving; a true living example of God’s love and a reflection of Christ her Lord. 
     Mama loved the Lord and she loved her family. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
     There was no end to Mama’s service and love for our family. She loved so unselfishly. Many times Mama helped me and our family through hard times. She did everything from cooking, cleaning and taking care of our children when I was unable to do so to staining siding and hanging insulation in our home when we were rebuilding after a fire!
     Mama absolutely adored her grandchildren. She along with Papa spent many hours at ball games and other activities the grandchildren were involved in. She always cherished each opportunity when she could keep the grandchildren. She would make those visits so special for them.  Spending time with them was food for her soul!
     Mama loved me and encouraged me. She was an inspiration to me, and she taught me many things through the years. Not just things like cooking and sewing, but eternal things. She taught me about her son, my Doug, and gave me wonderful advice on how to love him and accept him for who he was. 
     During Mama’s illness when she couldn’t remember very well – I longed for a precious glimpse of remembrance. There were rare moments when she would look me in the eye with love and call my name. I was so blessed by each of these moments.
I praise God for Mama. I praise Him for her life, love and for all the blessed memories I have of her.
I will truly miss her.

I am so sorry for your loss.  I will always remember all the wonderful memories with your family and how kind Mrs. Wasden was to me.  She was a second Mom to me for many years.  I feel so blessed to be a part of her amazing life.  My thoughts and prayers go out to each of you.  My love to you all.  God Bless.
