Mr. Forrest W. Silvey, 90, of Augusta, Georgia passed away Saturday, December 04, 2010, at Select Specialty Hospital after an extended illness.
Mr. Silvey studied law at Suffolk University in Boston, Massachusetts and Augusta Law School. He was admitted to the Bar in 1949 and practiced law in Augusta for over fifty-five years. Forrest was a radio operator at the Naval Reservation near Boston, served in WWII and Korean War. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, American Legion, Georgia and Augusta Bar Associations.
Forrest is survived by his beloved wife of sixty-two years, Agnes Wimburn Silvey; three daughters, Sonja Landrum, Wanda (Kirk) Harrington and Cyndi White; and six precious grandchildren, Amber Harrington (Dennis) Carraway, Brittany Harrington, Richard Cayd Harrington, Lawson Drew Landrum, Brandt K. White and Stevie Marie White. He is preceded in death by his parents, Alexander E. and Iradelle B. Silvey and two sisters, Anne Weil and Mary Lough.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 7 until 9 PM at the funeral home.
Funeral Services will be held 11 AM, Monday in the Lumpkin Road Chapel of Elliott Sons Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Wrens Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bill White, Kirk Harrington, Burke Wimburn, Mike Wimburn, Clifton Watton, Barry Nichols, Dennis Carraway and William Rosabal. Honorary Pallbearers will be Don Poole and Clyde Chavous.
