Mrs. Cooper was a faithful servant of the Lord and was a member of South Haven Baptist Church. She adored her family, especially her children, grandchildren and bonus grandchildren. She checked on her children with a phone call each day, sometimes multiple times a day. Mrs. Cooper loved everyone and never met a stranger; if she did meet a stranger they instantly became a friend to her. She enjoyed going to the Columbia County Senior Citizen Center where she was able to play Bingo and fellowship with others. She loved traveling, especially to Pigeon Forge and Disneyworld. She also loved jewelry, going to Clarks Hill and going shopping at Hamricks. On Saturday’s Mrs. Cooper would get her hair done every week and she looked forward to going out to eat afterwards. She enjoyed talking on the phone to her dear friends Roscoe, Birdie, Dianne and Sister Henderson.
Mrs. Cooper is preceded in death by her loving husband, Claud Cooper Jr; parents, Hurley D. and Lillie Jewell Smith; and her siblings. Survivors include her children, Deborah Cooper Munson (Patrick), James Rickey Cooper (Rachel), Norman Eugene Cooper (Esther), and her grandson who was like a son, Chase Cooper; special daughter, Amy Dunaway (Ed); numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; her bonus grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and her friend Terri Greg Mattox.
