Mr. David Warren Buckner entered into rest on Tuesday, July 5, 2022. Mr. Buckner was retired from the U. S. Army and civil service as a Training Instructor, Fort Gordon, Georgia. He volunteered with the Red Cross for over 20 years and served well.
He was a dear Father, loved his family and loved his Lord. Survivors include his children, Sandra Coleman, Hephzibah, GA, David Buckner II (Renee), Sumter, SC, James Buckner (Diane), Mark Buckner, Phillip Buckner, and Steve Buckner (Barbara), Norman, OK; grandchildren, Sharon Aguilar, Susan Coleman-Hudson, Nathan Buckner, Michael Buckner, Brandon Coleman, Cory Buckner, Jill Perkins, Kristen Thomas and Jessica Buckner. He was survived with 20 great-grandchildren. He was also survived by his sister, Pauletta Nimmons.
He was predeceased by two grandsons; Jimmy Buckner and Brian Buckner. He was also predeceased by Lee Buckner (brother), Dorothy Sutton (sister) and Janet Sellers (sister). He had numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was known by most of his family as “Warren” or “Uncle Warren.”
The pallbearers who will honor Mr. Buckner are Jorge Aguilar, Brandon Coleman, Michael Buckner, Cory Buckner, Skyler McGregor and Asante Lloyd.
The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Friday, July 8, 2022 at Elliott Sons Funeral Home on Lumpkin Road. The family will also receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 3pm on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at the Lumpkin Road Chapel of Elliott Sons Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park with military honors.
