Connie Jewel Smith

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 16, 2012 at 3pm at Piney Grove Baptist Church., McBean, GA. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robby Williams, Chris Williams, Stargell Booth, Mike Sterling, Aaron Black, and Jonathan Queen. Honorary pallbearers will be the Augusta Elks Lodge #205.

A native of Holly Springs, MS she was the daughter of the late Curtis Cook, Sr. and Toy Nelson Cook. Ms. Smith lived in the Augusta area for 37 years and was a retired cosmetologist. She was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church, where she served on the Church Committee and the Ladies Auxiliary.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Smith. She is survived by her son, David Smith and his wife Donna of Waynesboro, GA; sister, Lavern Speaks, Warner Robins, GA; brothers, Van Doyle Cook, New Albany, MS; Curtis Cook, Jr., Holly Springs, MS granddaughters, Amber Sterling, North Augusta, SC; Heather Queen, Widner, GA; Amanda Smith, Waynesboro, GA, grandson, Travis Jackson, Waynesboro, GA; and 4 great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 2524 Lumpkin Road, Augusta.
