Anna Victoria Welsh was born to the late Oscar Maysonet and the late Marcelina Vazquez on 4 May 1943 in Cataño, Puerto Rico. The Lord called her home to rest on 9 February 2024. Anna was preceded in death by her brother Victor Oscar Maysonet Vazquez.
Anna left her lasting memories with three beautiful children, Shirley (Freddie) Keys, Richard (Deana) Welsh, and Mailyn Welsh (Jeffrey Hearn). She was the proud grandmother of six (Mario, Anna, Collin, Jonah, David, Jessica) grandchildren, and three (James, Douglas, Dominic) great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her precious Chihuahua, Izzy.

Anna always expressed her favorite past times would be the moments spent surrounded by her family and friends. She did not miss an opportunity to make even a stranger laugh, and there was no shortage of encouraging words. Anna loved sharing her coveted recipes and more than ready to feed the masses. She enjoyed watching daytime television, movies, a competitive round of cards, UNO, dominos and frequently exploring the world and its wonders.
If it was any one thing you could say, there was no argument that Anna genuinely loved others and she did not keep it a secret. To meet her would not be enough because she brought you right in with a warm embrace and “how are you doing darling?” and that was not rhetorical. If Anna asked, it mattered to her. If she saw a need, she could fulfill she did just that. It would be naïve but believable that she never had a worry because even in the midst of her biggest battles her first concern was the well-being of her family and friends.
Anna embodied qualities of unconditional love, strength of spirit, and generosity that extended beyond her immediate family but to her entire family and countless others. Her departure comes as a great shock and a deep wound for all that loved her. Her presence is missed, and her words are deeply imprinted on our hearts. We love you Mom, Grandma, and dear friend.
