Whenever I think of Papa Wayne I think of him always laughing. I remember he would  walk around the house ALWAYS upbeat and singing songs that I had never heard of. I remember the meat market and how dedicated he was. We would go in there and if there was something we wanted and grandma said no, we knew papa would say yes! I remember we would always joke around about his crazy pajamas he would always wear, and his little bird legs... I can look back and think of all the time spent with papa and I don't feel sad. I can't help but smile. I only wish the my girls could have had more time with him to get to know him as I did. He was a wonderful man and we will miss him dearly...

Linda, I am so sorry about losing Wayne. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Uncle (Cousin) Wayne is going to be SO VERY missed by many of us cousins that always referred to him as "Uncle Wayne" because the "sisters" wouldn't allow us to refer to him just by his first name since he was older.  

Our thoughts and prayers are with Aunt (Cousin) Linda, Gary and all the little ones that will miss their grandpa.  As well as Aunt Sabra, Uncle Roddy and all his as well.  

I know we'll all miss his smiling face at the Annual Meeks Family Christmas parties every year.  

Remember we love you and you are in our thoughts everyday.

I am saddened by Wayne's death and my prayers are with Linda and his family. I was a classmate for many years and had the pleasure of graduating with him. He was undoubtably one of the finest young men I never knew. He was low key but always had a smile and kind conversation. We had not seen much of each other over the years but on those occasions when we did I always went away feeling better because he just made you feel that way. I also had the pleasure of being a track team mate of his and boy was he fast. He ran the first leg of the sprint medly relay and I the third leg. He always gave us a lead and was the reason we most often won that particular race at the meets. I know that he is now running races for the greatest coach ever. One day I hope to join him on God's track team. May God's blessings and comfort be on all his family and friends. My deepest sympathy,

I've known Wayne since I was like 13 years old and worked for him at Wise Meat market for a few years when I was a teenager. He was a good friend of the  Family. Wayne was a good person and a good friend who will be greatly missed. My Condolence and prayers goes out to his family-  Sabra, Linda, Gayle, & Gary and many others.

To Wayne's family, I send my heartfelt condolences.  Wayne and I were classmates in junior high and high school and played on the football team together in 9th and 10th grades.  Wayne has always been in my mind  one of the nicest best persons I have ever known.  He was a gentleman of the first order.  He had remarkable physical abilities which, as a fellow quarterback, I got a kick out of watching.  That is to say, I had fun getting the ball to Wayne, assuming I was fast enough to get over to the position to hand it off to him in time before he ran past me, and then just watching him run past everyone else in a blurr.  He was in my mind  someone whom I very much wanted to see and visit with at our 1960 WHHS graduating Class' 50th reunion this July.  I am so sorry that he is not with us physically but will remember him along with my classmates when we assemble on July 2nd.  I hope that Linda may be up to joining us on July 2nd in Winter Haven at which time we will remember all of our class who have passed on, including our friend Wayne.  After 50 years, as I think of him, I do so with great respect and affection and with tears over his  loss.  Roy Jones Jr.
