Orson Wright Gammon

Orson Wright Gammon, age 80, of Winter Haven, Florida passed away on Monday, April 25, 2022. Orson was born on August 26, 1941 in Torrington, Connecticut to the late Orson Robert Gammon and Ellen Bucher Thompson.

Orson resided in Connecticut until 1979 when he moved his family to Florida. He worked as a milk delivery man for many years until he joined the Walt Disney World team. Orson was a painter and carpenter for Disney until he retired in January of 2022. In his spare time he enjoyed classic car shows and taking his personal show car to Old Town in Kissimmee. Olson also enjoyed eating ice cream, drinking coffee and playing his guitar.

Orson is survived by his wife of 16 years Niem Gammon, son David Gammon, daughters Juliann Collins and Debra Melnick and his grandchildren Jarrett Melnick, Megan Melnick and Sarah Melnick along with 1 great-granddaughter Addilyn Owens. He also leaves behind his brothers Paul Moliter and Vernon Gammon, nephew Troy Luong and sister-in-law Dinh Tran and her husband Hung Tan along with numerous extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at First Baptist Church of Davenport on Thursday, April 28, 2022 from 1:00pm to 2:00pm with a memorial service to begin at 2:00pm.
