She was born June 27, 1923 to Clyde Legrand and Ressie Idella Rush of Rimersburg, PA.
Norma grew up on her family’s farm. She was a graduate of Rimersburg High School. In 1943, she and a friend set off for Ohio to work on B-24 bombers during WWII.
In June of 1946, she wed Roy Dean Stewart, also of Rimersburg. Together they had two children, Roxie Dianne and Dennis Clyde.
Her husband Roy would precede her in death December 28, 2000. Her daughter Dianne would also precede her in death October 13,1996.
She worked many loyal years, along with her husband, at Owens-Illinois in Clarion. In 1965 they transferred with the company to Lakeland, Florida, where they would also retire after thirty years of service. Norma loved most, and dedicated her life to her children and grandchildren. In 1996 she and Roy lovingly celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in Lake Wales, Florida, surrounded by family. They enjoyed their retirement years coming back home to Rimersburg in the summer months and visiting with friends and family.
Survivors include her son Dennis C.Stewart and Sandra F. Stewart (former Daughter-in-Law), both of Auburndale, FL; Former Son-in-Law, Paul E. McKee II and wife Doris of Morristown, TN. Surviving grandchildren are Melissa D. Eighmey and husband James of Auburndale, FL; A. Ashley Taylor and husband Jeffrey, of Bean Station, TN, Paul E. McKee III and wife Pam of Morristown, TN; Benjamin D. McKee and wife Heather of Murfreesboro, TN, and Beau D. McKee and wife Rebecca of Knoxville, TN; Surviving great grandchildren are Brianna and Brandon Eighmey, Eleni and Caleb McKee, Logan and Jackson McKee, and Kristina Taylor. Mrs. Stewart is also survived by her sister Roxie M. Clark of Lakeland, FL; Niece Randa B. DiMaria and husband Sal, of Butler, PA; Nephew Terry A. Rush and wife Emily of Rimersburg, PA; Great Nephews Steven Rush, Kevin Rush and wife Breanna all of Rimersburg, PA.
In addition to her Mother, Father and Daughter, she was preceded in death by an infant sister, Brother Arland L. Rush and wife Pauline, Brother Paul I. Rush, Brother-in-Law David R. Clark, and Grandson Paul D. Stewart.
A Picnic Lunch and Memorial Service will hosted by the Rush Family Reunion Saturday August 15th, at Noon, at the Clarion County Park.
