Louis Allen Byrd, age 79, from Leoma, Tennessee passed from this life to Eternal Life on April 10, 2021 at his home in Winter Haven, Florida. He was born on September 30, 1941 to the late William and Nina Byrd.
Louis attended Lawrence County Tennessee schools up to the 12th grade. He honorably served his Country during the Vietnam War as a Radio Teletype Operator. Louis worked for Mobil Mining and Minerals and Agrifos Mining of Nicholas, Florida and was also employed by Mid State Machine of Lakeland until he retired.
Louis is predeceased by his mother Nina May Jeter and father William Thomas Byrd, his 4 brothers W.T. Byrd, James Byrd, Frank Byrd and Bobby Byrd along with their wives Estella, Iva Lee, Jeanette and Dorothy. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Darlene Byrd, his sons Michael Allen Byrd and Kelly Glenn Byrd and his granddaughters Carly Maria Byrd and Cheyenne Michelle Byrd. Each granddaughter claimed he was "Kind Old Hillbilly", one claimed he was her best friend and both agree he was truly loved and treated all of their friends as his own grandchildren. Louis also leaves behind his brothers Malcolm Byrd (Carlene) and Joe Byrd (Velvie) and his 3 sisters Mary Gowen, Margie White and Edna Parrott along with a multitude of extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
A visitation will be held at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home in Auburndale, Florida on Saturday, April 17, 2021 from 10:00am to 11:00am when a funeral service will begin. Following the funeral will be a graveside service set to take place at Glenn Abbey Memorial Gardens in Auburndale, Florida.
